One of Dubai’s oldest neighborhoods, important to several expat communities, has undergone massive redevelopment in the last few years, causing physical, economic and cultural expulsions of middle-class South Asian residents. Dubai’s urban branding strategy has altered Karama’s physical landscape, demographic composition, and cultural identity.
